History

Originally registered in The Netherlands on the 26th of September 1968 this prize winning MG B GT was bought by Volkert Wels on December 5th, 1985. Volkert was only 17 when he started the restoration process which took him nearly 6 years.

The restoration was done to an extremely high level and Volkert also improved the GT where he thought gains could be made … before restoring the car again and even further improving it with the knowledge he had gained over the years. Volkert now runs an established and well-known MG workshop in the Netherlands.

The whole process has been very well documented and the car comes with a large history file as well as several cups it has won over the years. The car was also featured in Octane magazine (NL) # 19 of which a copy comes with the car.

Its stunning British Racing Green body holds an extensively modified engine with an aluminium head with larger valves, shortened and flattened pistons, a Piper 285 camshaft and a lightened flywheel make this fast road car a delight to drive. And she stops well on her drilled front discs with V8 callipers. 15”Minilites with octagonal nuts make this BRG car stand out from other GT’s.

After Volkert Wels, this MG B GT had another Dutch owner, before being bought by a German connoisseur who enjoyed the car for many years. As he is now reducing his collection he has commissioned Noble House selling the car.
